Produced via a process that sees glass fully mouth-blown into a wooden mold, Polspotten's 'Ball Body' vases presents a compelling vision. Delicate and strong at once, the bulbous vessel is defined by a series of cracks along its surface, the result of the vase being plunged into ice cold water immediately after being blown, then placed again into an oven to cement its strength in a technique drawn from a Chinese craftsman. The result is a family of colorful pieces that includes this small green vase that can be displayed empty or filled with blooms for equal impact.
