Comme des Garçons SHIRT is another dissection into the world of Rei Kawakubo. A line of experimental, shirt-dominating wardrobe staples that play with new materials and patterns to convey a progressive thought of creativity.

Kawakubo set up Comme des Garçons in 1973, constantly redefining what we consider fashion to be, challenging men’s and womenswear through radical reference, technique and ultimately, output. Through her ability to create an ever-changing scope on the fashion sphere, Comme des Garçons have introduced an expanding range of diffusion lines with CDG SHIRT being one. Comme des Garçons SHIRT is a concept of elevation, by putting a newly progressive spin on the staples that make up our wardrobe. Each and every collection offers a new touch of colours, shapes and materiality to the forefront, redefining menswear styles through boundary pushing designs.

For Autumn/Winter 20, Comme des Garçons SHIRT have collided the two worlds of fashion and art with a capsule collection in collaboration with Futura. Futura is a contemporary American graffiti artist who has transitioned from marking the New York subway system in the early 70’s, to exhibiting his work alongside the likes of Keith Haring and Jean-Michel Basquiat. The collection showcases a fusion of colourful graffiti emblazoned on a range of clothing, accessories and footwear reminiscent of both, Comme des Garçons and Futura. Each piece has been reimagined through the lens of Kawakubo with print application, various shapes and a collage-like feel.
